Our 45min Barre classes are for anyone who wishes to become stronger and more toned, while having some  fun. Barre is the perfect balance to our Yoga, Yin, and Gentle classes.  Barre and Pilates classes offer targeted strength and toning, which supports the flexibility we develop through our Yoga practices.

Barre classes at Haven Yoga Studio include some postures similar to mat Pilates, as well as time on the barre.  We use the barre to push, pull and build strength into the upper body, while supporting us as we develop and tone our lower body.  When you join one of our classes, you may use a small range of equipment to help define and target zones, including Pilates balls, 1kg hand weights and resistance bands.

Our Barre classes are founded on the philosophies of both Pilates and Yoga.  We believe in supporting everyone, from beginners and those with a regular practice. 

Barre classes at Haven Yoga Studio draw on core strength.  The discipline of Pilates to create strength and stabilisation through our core, allowing us build and tone the arms, shoulders, back, legs and glutes.

We uphold the Yoga philosophies of self-care in our approach to Barre classes.  Our amazing teachers create levels within each sequence, allowing you to feel confident as you strengthen and tone in a way that serves you.

Our Barre and Pilates classes are very popular, and contrary to popular belief they are neither ballet classes, nor just for women. We love supporting everyone to enjoy the benefits of targeted toning and strengthening of the core and support muscles.  Our Barre clients share that after just a few classes they; feel more confident, have improved posture and are feeling strong, without having to lift heavy weights at the gym.
